Happy Friday! Congratulations to all the couples who got engaged this week, and welcome to DIY Bride!
Today we have the wedding of Eva and Gary, and it was truly an international affair. Since the bride is from Iceland, the ceremony was in English and Icelandic, and favors for the guests were pieces of lava rock from the Eyjafjallajokull eruption. The florals were arranged and assembled by the bride and her attendants on the eve of the wedding using flowers shipped from Ecuador and placed in vases found around the house. The menu for the wedding was a labor of love, created and prepared by close friends of the bride, and the fish for the reception was purchased on the morning of the nuptials from a local dock.

Love how each bridesmaid wore a different dress and color. This is a great way to have them feel the most confident and not have to buy a dress they may never wear again! Kudos to the bride!
