We're Curious: What's Your "First Dance" Song?

What song are you selecting for your “first dance” song at your reception. Why’d you choose that particular song?

Jason and I used “Still In Love With You” by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy because it was easy to dance to, sweetly romantic without being cheesy, and we love BBVD.

We have it narrowed down to either Johnny Cash singin 'I walk the line' LOL or the Proclaimers 'I would walk 1000 miles'

Sam Cooke is amazing. We're thinking about using "These Arms of Mine" sung by Otis Redding. :)It always makes me teary-eyed.

We used Lou Reed's "Perfect Day" - it was so gloriously 'us' and we liked that we'd never heard it as a wedding song before.

"In The Aeroplane Over The Sea" by Neutral Milk Hotel. Honey and I are both little-known-but-mind-blowingly-awesome-band fans and this is the most romantic song I've ever heard. It even has a waltz tempo.

We chose "You're the Inspiration" by Chicago because my fiance and I inspire each other everyday to be the best we can be. It helps our love grow stronger as well. Another slow song we will play is "I Wanna Grow Old With You" from The Wedding Singer movie because he sang that song to me when be proposed :-)

We have it narrowed down to two: either "The Solace of You" by Living Colour or "Somebody Loved" by the Weepies. We listened to the latter song together during our very first phone conversation. :)

We danced to "Question" by the Old 97's. My husband (as of Friday 9/17!!!) played that song in the car for me as we were driving back to his place from the park/lake where he proposed.

My fiance and I will be dancing to "Two is Better Than One" by Boys Like Girls and Taylor Swift. Yes, it's slightly newer and probably a little young for our wedding, but we love it anyways! :)

Ours was completely spontaneous! It was an Eastern-European style waltz that a local musician had written and our band played, that's not even released yet. About three minutes before, we asked them to pick something and tell us what style! It turned out to be a wonderful way to do it!
