Practically everything we are doing is DIY!: the centrepieces, bunting, shortbread button favors, the cake and cupcakes, my clutch purse and more.

I'm doing flower arrangements, invitations, programs, and possibly my dress, and a friend will make my cake.

I'm wanting to do centerpieces focusing on some DIY flower or other concept. Also, favors are positively DIY. Would like to do something extra unique that would involve the guests themselves. Maybe decorating votive candle holders, or something like that.

I'm a bride to be getting married in April 2011. We're pretty much DIY-ing the whole thing. Projects I'm excited about are:Lights - I'm going to buy old glass containers from thrift stores and frost them (kit from craft store) to hold little lights (Candles? LEDs?) and Buffet Dinner - I'm going to try to make the napkins and I'm buying mismatched plates and silverware. Invitations - We're doing a small poster, designed to look like a concert flyer, and will roll it up and send out in mail tubes with funky magnets. (technically, we're getting our graphic artist to do the flyer, my renditions were more spastic thank artistic).

I plan paper origami flowers, star punched luminarias and hand made invitations and programs!

I am a craft junkie and am really looking forward to making my wedding reflect that and the simplicity that my future husband and I embody. I will more than likely do my own flowers (bouquet and centerpieces) and have a few projects in mind to spruce up the arboretum space that we picked out, like working with a semi-blank/clean canvas I can't wait to get started! I'm fortunate enough to have plenty of hands on deck to help me with the major projects, but things like the jewlery I plan on making for my girls (shhh! it's a secret!) and little bits here and there will hopefully make a tasteful and splendid impression on a small budget. With already under a year to go there's so much to do, and really understanding what projects to tackle in what order would be such a great help!

we are making our own invites, centerpieces, hair piece, ring bowl and cake just to name a few things. Having a book to help with the how-to would be wonderful

I'm working hard with my Mother-In-Law to work out to do DIY-wise. At the moment, we're planning on doing:*stationery - I'm lucky enough to have a Graphic Designer as a friend and she is helping me design the suite and I'll print/embellish/stamp/press and send them out,*the flowers - bouquets and centrepieces, *patterened fabric table runners which I'll convert to a wedding quilt afterwards (theoretically! I need to learn how to sew first...), *drinks - we want to embellish used wine bottles for water bottles and make spirits-based punch (cos we're not big wine drinkers)*catering for our "after-party", including cupcakes! :D - we're having a small wedding and reception and then a larger party the Saturday after to keep costs down

I am recently engaged and so overwhelmed! Your website has a lot of great tips and I am looking for DIY ideas for centerpieces and favors.

I just finished my engagement party invitations and am planning to create my Save the Dates, invitations, decorations (banners, etc.), favors, escort cards, table numbers, bouquets/boutonnieres...My mom and I are seriously considering doing our own flower arrangements for the centerpieces but I'm scared to make that big of a decision yet. Yay for DIY weddings! =)

We're planning on DIY-ing our centerpieces, paper goods, my accessories, our favors, table runners and napkins, the unity candle, calligraphy, and more.

I love DIY'ing! So far I've made paper flower centerpieces and table decor. For the bridesmaids I've done bracelets and homemade sugar scrub. At this moment I'm working on programs and table numbers!

I am getting married in November of this year and i have had a blast with my DIY projects... and i still have more to come.- custom painted aisle runner (almost done)- 4 tier wedding card box (done)- custom monogrammed candy bar wrappers for the candy buffet(done)- Water bottle labels (done)- Crystallized cake topper (done)- Invitations (almost done)- still to come- bathroom baskets, out of town bags, bridesmaid gift bags, and centerpieces

I am planning on doing all my decor and flowers. I look farward to doing all on this for my wedding.

I'm a graphic designer, so I DIY'ed my save-the-dates, invites, and website. I'm currently designing the table signs and escort cards, and all those little pieces of signage that you need, like menus and reserved signs for the ceremony seating. I'm also doing some sewing projects... so far, I've finished the flower girl basket and one table runner. I have 17 table runners to go, plus flags for outdoor decoration. I *think* that's everything!

In reading all of these incredibly inspiring blogs, I'm trying not to get completely swept away in DIY fever to avoid creating a stressful situation. I'd love to tackle a few DIY projects, and I am hoping these books can help me focus my energy to make them really memorable and fun! Thanks for the chance to win :o)

Love all the great ideas on your website. We are still in planning stages for our wedding next Memorial Day but the goal is to do almost everything ourselves - invitations, flower arrangements, catering, table decorations - and I am going to rely on everyone's advice alot. I am still in the very early stages of planning...and haven't yet explored all the different DIY projects that I could do. But, so far, I plan on DIYing my save the dates, the seating cards, and maybe invitations. Also, I want to do our favors (likely something yummy and edible, and something else), and a welcome bag for our out of town guests (there will be a lot, my entire family!!) I've toyed with the idea of DIYing my reception flowers, but that kind of scares me.

As a DIY Bride to Be, I will definately be taking on quite a few projects... with the help of our family of course. We are writing our own ceremony, having my FIL be our officiant, doing all the bouquets and arrangements ourselves, collecting as many clear jars as possible for glassware/centerpieces, making handmade soap for favors, homemade cheesecake as our wedding cake, Save the Dates were hand stamped by yours truly, inivitations will be designed by my brother, photography will be done by his uncle. The purpose behind all these DIY projects is to let our authenticity shine through. We don't believe in feeding the wedding industry and we want our personalities to shine through. hello! love your website. i am planning my wedding on a tight budget and plan to make/do everything myself (invitations, programs, favors, bridesmaids gifts, etc).

I hope to keep our wedding as green as possible, buying locally, and even picking the berries from local farms that we will use to make jam for favors. I'm also excited to dig into some creative lighting ideas, using jars and paper lanterns. We are tempted to try to also cook most of the food ourselves.

I am planning on making my flowers (paper or fabric), invitations (gocco printing hopefully!), decorations, and probably most of the food with help from friends.

I'm going to be sewing paper garlands, making center pieces, and decorating a kids table. I'm most excited about the last one. We're also going to do a computer guest sign in with digital pictures of the guests and a Wacom tablet so they can write their greetings. An artsy friend of mine is going to 'sit the guest book' by taking the pictures and arranging them with the greetings to print into a book along with photos from the rest of the wedding. (We're computer engineers...the digital part is necessary!)

I love crafts and scrapbooking so to be able to incorporate anything DIY into my wedding would be great! I love the idea of DIY table numbers using chalk board paint. One of my favorite things DIY that I have done are our save the dates! I took the pictures and put them in a photostrip template and created a postcard save the date and had them printed on thick cardstock. They're adorable and knowing that I made designed them myself is even better! I'd love to have one of these books to come up with more ideas for DIY items at my wedding!

I have a long list of DIY projects to do for my wedding... So far I've made our monogram, STD cards, & BM cards, but my biggest DIY project is my wedding dress!

As an under $5k budget, we plan to do a lot ourselves. I'm most excited about our favors (individual cupcakes) and flowers (hoping to grow our own garden with lots of different flowers that we can pick the day before).

I'm really excited about making the wedding personal, but in a chic way. One big DIY project is making out of town bags, since nearly everyone will be traveling to the wedding. I want to make fabric poms, fabric boutonnieres, fabric EVERYTHING. I love the delicate soft touch fabric gives to the decor, and you can also use it in your home later as soft touches to a room.

I've been busy making homemade peach and pear preserves made from fruit that grew in my parents' yard, soaps from homegrown herbs, and of course maps for walking tours (my mom created a Jewish-themed walking tour for my hometown) for the welcome bags for our out-of-town guests. Thanks to DIY, I also had the idea to order canvas bags and decorate those, too! I'm also collecting cute vintage-inspired (and some actual vintage hand-me-down) photo frames to use for a display of family photographs from both sides, and for signs. I've already got my design put together for flower arrangements, centerpieces and the chuppah - the color scheme is wine and champagne, with pops of purple, and I'm using a variety of flowers, but mostly striped orchids for the tables. As for the stationary, I'll be making the programs, place cards and thank-you notes (with photo collages from our big day!). The wedding is only 6 months away, so I guess it's time to get back to work!

I am planning to DIY our programs, favors, flowers, and guest book so far!

Almost my whole wedding will be DIY, first I am making my own brooch bouqet, from pieces I own, from my mother who has passed on, and I am not registering for a bridal shower so I am asking everyone to bring a brooch to be added, I feel this has so much more meaning than a real flower bouquet. The wedding will be outside/ family style dinner, I will be making all the center pieces, large grapevine balls decorated with jewels, birds and butterflies. The aisle will be made from silk multicolored rose petals and jewels, and lit path with votives in colored hurricane vases. Oh, and also making the card box out of a wooden birdcage, decorated to match the center pieces and all napkin rings and moss ring pillow.

I'm making ALL of my own wedding decor and florals! I bought all silk flowers to make every bouquet, boutonnière, and corsage myself, plus decor like centerpieces, vases, and our wedding arch. It's exciting but scary to take it all on by myself! =)

Only just discovered this site, we got engaged on holiday in France just last week. I'm inspired already!!! currently in a slight state of overload, but I know with our budget we will be trying to DIY almost everything! I want to make handmade gifts for my bridesmaids (clutches for the wedding and to be used after) and I want to make handmade signs for the wedding, plus I plan to do all the flowers from bouquets to center pieces and I'm a little bit terrified about that one! Ha.

I am the Mother of the Bride, but I will be doing all the "crafty" things since my daughter is absolute useless when it comes to crafts (what do you expect from a Marine?!?)
