Wow, this snuck up on me this year!

Today is World Card Making Day. The purpose of WCMD is to bring together handmade card enthusiasts to share our ideas, techniques, and love of the craft.

As an avid card-maker, this is one of my most sacred holidays. Besides projects for the upcoming DIY Bride book #2 my overworked brain has been obsessing about Xmas cards, baby announcements and thank you cards. In celebration of WCMD this weekend, I’ll be posting a great little thank you card that’s perfect for any occasion.

Then, 7 years later …

the newest DIYer

Some of you clever pals picked up on my sudden aversion to cake last month and you were spot on about its origins. Nothin’ gets passed you guys!

I’ve been debating when to share the news here but decided to tell now because the pregnancy is affecting my DIY time. Morning All day sickness is not conducive to blogging right now. I’ll still be posting but likely less frequently than I would like. After my first trimester ends and (so I hear) my energy comes back, I’ll be back on track with regular posting.

In the meantime I will be having some awesome guest bloggers come on board to entertain you. I’m super excited about their participation and just know you’ll absolutely love them and what they have to share with you.

Thanks for sharing in my joy and for your understanding while I transition into this strange, new territory.

A friend of mine, the utterly fabulous Kim from Parisian Events, needs some help translating an article in Cosmo Bride China that she’s mentioned in. She’s giving away a gorgeous little notebook from Laduree to whomever can translate. Check the details here.

I have a storage problem and I’m calling on you, my clever readers, for ideas.

I have about 2 dozen rolls of paper (wrapping paper, handmade papers, large sheets of paper) that I can’t figure out how to store. They were standing upright in a large vase in a corner of my last apartment. That’s just not going to work in the new space.

The underbed storage boxes aren’t going to work for me.  Wall-mounting might work but I can’t visualize doing that for 24+ rolls. Any other suggestions that’ll protect the papers and keep them accessible to me for crafting projects?

It’s moving week! I’ll be pretty quiet until next Monday while I finish packing and schlep all of my stuff to the new digs.

The good news is that I’m not leaving you without some utterly delightful crafty goodness. For the past few months I’ve been writing for a new craft community called Craft Stylish.  I’m the contributing editor for the paper crafts section. It just launched last week and I have to admit that I’m pretty proud to be a part of it.

Please check us out for ideas, information, and inspiration for paper crafts, beading/jewelry-making, knitting and crochet, quilting, sewing, embroidery and oodles of other nifty crafts.

Thanks, everyone! I hope you have a great week!
