Fab Finds Friday is a weekly showcase of some of the fabulous resources available to the wedding community. This week’s wedding goodness comes to you from Fuji Instax 200 Camera and Heather Bailey’s new line of felt. Products for FFF are chosen based on their merit and are never paid endorsements. xoxo.
If you’re still in mourning about the demise of the Polaroid instant camera like I am, I have something that may just soothe your soul and bring a sunshine back into your heart. The fine folks at Fuji have introduced an instant film camera to the market. The Instax 200 camera costs under $50 with film cartridges running around $16.00 for a twin pack of cartridges (10 pix per cartridge).
For you felt fans, one of my favorite textile designers, Heather Bailey, just launched her own line of felt. She has 18 delicious colors available. Each sheet is 9″ x 12″ and costs $2.25 for the wool/rayon blend colors and $4.25 for the bamboo/rayon blend colors.
{Stay tuned for my no-sew felt ring pillow project!}

I’m a sucker for a good ring pillow. So many are just a bit too precious, if you know what I mean. May I present to you this lovely personalized pillow from designer Mari Robeson as a sophisticated alternative to the lace and bow cookie cutter options?$90.00 at Mari’s store above.

If you’re bummed that Gocco is a thing of the past, I have something that’s gonna cheer you up! The clever product team over at Provo Craft have just launched their first screen printing machine for crafters. It’s called the Yudu and it just hit the market.
From the Provo Craft site:
SAY WHAT YOU’VE ALWAYS WANTED TO SAY!
The Yudu™ screen-printing system is the easiest, cleanest way to let everyone know who you are—and how you see the world. Don’t settle for what everyone else is wearing or spend hours futilely trying to find a t-shirt that expresses the real you. With access to a computer and an ink-jet printer, you’ll be able to create and print your own designs not only for t-shirts or other apparel, but also for home décor, art prints, posters, cards, schoolwork, and much more! With this revolutionary personal screen printer, you can let your voice be heard today, no matter where you are or what you’re doing.
I just ordered mine and can’t wait to get my hands on it!
Priced at around $250 – $300 retail for just the machine, it is a big craft investment. We’ll see how long the inks and supplies last and if it’s worth the cash. JoAnn’s and Michael’s recently started stocking the Yudu but, at this time, they’re not allowing coupons for purchasing the machine. (Supplies seem to be ok for discount coupons, though!)
Do you have hands-on experience with the Yudu? We want to hear from you!

One of the great misconceptions about DIY weddings is that they’re somehow unglamorous, even tacky, affairs. Pshaw, I say! As you’ve seen here, at DIY Bride, (and at the growing number of DIY blogs popping up) do-it-yourself weddings can be gorgeous, elegant and utterly fabulous with a little effort and the right resources. Finding those resources – and sharing them with you – is something I love to do.
Imagine my delight when the team at Preston Bailey contacted me to introduce Preston’s first product for us, the DIY crowd. Inspired by his love of empowering couples to do-it-yourself, Preston is offering a complete how-to guide and resource manual to create the Wedding Bell, this stuning table setting from his book “Celebrations”. Can you believe this look is achieved by using paper? Genius!
On April 06, 2009, Preston will offer a limited number 1,000 of copies of Wedding Bell for sale to the public. To celebrate the product’s launch, DIYBride readers are being offered a generous 15% discount! Please use discount code DIYBRIDE.
To reserve your copy:
- Email diy@prestonbailey.com
- Include your name, address, email address and telephone number

Along with my paper obsession comes a nasty little addiction to ribbon. Seriously, I have hundreds of yards of the stuff and I’m pretty confident I’ll never use it all up in this lifetime. I tend to buy in bulk because, you know, I just might need that peacock blue silk shantung 3/8″ and that 100 yards of cute 1.5″ chartreuse polka dot ribbon some day. Yeah, I’m kinda sad in that way.
Anyway, since I’m always on the prowl for nifty new ribbons I thought I’d share my mega list of great ribbonerie resources with you. Beware: some companies require a minimum order (either dollar amount of bolt/cut size). All are open to the public; some have wholesale/bulk pricing if you’re a qualifying business.

2008 was definitely the Year of the Chandelier as the hot design motif. I’m happy to say that it’s still going strong in these early days of 2009 and am pretty confident we’ll be seeing the chandelier love in weddings for some time to come.
scrapNfonts just released this set of chandelier brushes (.abr) that comes along with .png image files for those of you who aren’t Photoshop users. You can use .png in other programs like MS Word. Pretty cute, eh? For just $6.00, it’s a steal.

scrapNfonts is a great resource for – you guessed it – fonts. Though geared towards scrapbookers, they have a wide selection of fonts, dingbats, and Photoshop brushes that’d be perfect for your printed wedding projects.

Fab Finds Friday is a weekly showcase of some of the fabulous resources available to the wedding community. This week’s wedding goodness comes to you from M&M’s.
If you’re inclined to indulge your most narcissistic fantasies on your wedding day, M&M’s has something sweet in store for you!
You’ve probably known about custom M&M’s candies where you can place nearly any text on them for a while. Now M&M’s has gone craaaaazy with candy printing technology that allows you to place pictures on their yummy little candies. I know! Genius!
I’m thinking that, in place of a photo, you could substitute a great graphic – like your monogram or custom logo – for an ultra-cool, ultra-customized favor. Neat!
Do check out the site and their printing “dos and don’ts” page before you buy. See the M&M’s site here.

Oh, friends, I am so excited to share this resource with you! Spoonflower is one of the coolest, most innovative services to hit the crafting world in a long, long time.
So, what exactly do they do? They print custom fabric designed by you. Yep, that’s right, you can create your own fabric for a mere $18 a yard with no minimums. Just imagine what you can do with this: ring pillows, table runners, handbags for your maids, chair covers, neck ties, vests, photo booth backdrops, invitations (shameless plug: see The DIY Bride book for the Couture Silk Invite) … the list goes on and on.
Spoonflower has just come out of their beta phase and is now open to everyone. Sign-up is free and they have a number of online resources for inspiration and to help get you started.
I’m looking forward to my first order with them and will be sure to share my experience (and projects).
