Just wanted to say thanks for the link -- really glad my piece resonated with you. I'm always very flattered when people think I'm worth quoting ... thanks for the ego-boost! :-)

In San Jose, CA we have a wonderful wedding venue called the Hayes Mansion known for fabulous weddings. I think not only would they benefit from your DIY workshop, but your attendees would find a wonderful place that they may not already know about.

Amen, amen, amen. I found people are especially surprised when they find that I organized my 2007 book tour myself, paid for it out of pocket, and slept on friends couches. There's so much romance around being published, and the truth of the matter is that the book publishing industry is struggling and there's not a lot of glamour in being an author these days.

The financial realities are rough, too. I love the look on people's faces when I tell them my website made more in the last month than my book did in the last year. And that's even with my book doing well enough that they're releasing an updated edition! Being an author just ain't an especially lucrative business...although I wouldn't give it up for anything! :)

Great job!

A great rule of thumb to always avoid an oppurtunity where you are asked for money inorder to participate the exception you are working with those you know well and have earned your trust.

It is wonderful to take advantage of networking with other professionals in the wedding industry, can be invalueable when spreading information such as this.

Thank you.. wonderful post..
