Day 3 Giveaway A Day: Fiskars SureCut 12″ Paper Cutter
UPDATE: Contest Closed. Congrats to winner kristind! Thank you to all who participated.
In honor of DIY Bride’s 8th anniversary, we’re celebrating with one giveaway a day from August 29 until September 29.
The quality of your paper cutter (and the sharpness of your blades) will make or break your invitations. My favorite portable trimmers (great for those of us with limited craft space) from Fiskars. I find that Fiskars’ trimmers are accurate, top quality, replacement blades are easy to find, and are economical to maintain for the long life of the unit.
Up for grabs today is the SureCut Recycled Titanium Portable 12″ Paper Trimmer from Fiskars. It features:
- SureCut cut-line indicator allows you to quickly and easily align paper
- Titanium-coated blade for extra lasting sharpness
- Trimmer base made of 100-percent-recycled post-consumer resin
- Precision-printed scale and grid to accurately align your project before cutting; high contrast for easy readability
- Cutting capacity of 7 sheets of 20-pound copy paper
- Cutting length of 12 inches
- Swing-out arm increases measurements to 14-1/4 inches
- Patented TripleTrack blades interlock with cutting rail for straighter cuts
- Ergonomic high-profile carriage makes it easy to grip when cutting
- Safe and easy blade removal (requires no tools)
- Integrated paper clamp and smudge guard allows you to hold paper while cutting without making fingerprint marks
- Pivot-open cutting rail allows for easy project placement
- Lifetime warranty

In honor of DIY Bride’s 8th anniversary, we’re celebrating with one giveaway a day from August 29 until September 29.
This is one of the “must-have” tools in my crafter’s toolbox. If you have any paper projects that need precise score lines (invitations, escort cards, envelopes, thank you cards, small gift boxes), this handy dandy gadget is essential.
Roberts Crafts has a great video that gives a great overview of the Score Board, if you’d like to see it in action.
To enter, just leave a comment to this post before 11:59 pm today (August 30). Winner will be chosen by random draw. One entry per person. Open to US residents only. (Sorry, international folks! We have some giveaways you can participate in coming up.)

One of the best pieces of advice I can give about being a DIYer is to not go overboard with your projects. Pick a few things that are meaningful to you and within your budget so that you can devote your full creativity to them without breaking your budget – or sanity. Allyson and Joe, avid backpackers, outdoorsy cabin-themed wedding showcases how choosing the right projects (for them) added splashes of personality and style to their day.

DIY Bride Turns 8 Today!
Today is the DIYBride.com’s 8th anniversary and we’re kicking off a whole month of special giveaways, features, parties, and super-secret surprises.
Before I get to the festivities, I wanted to take thank you, my friends and colleagues, for sharing in this incredible journey. This began as a little hobby for me and has morphed into something beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you for being a part of DIY Bride’s growth, and more importantly, its history. You are an integral part of what makes DIY Bride such a special place.
Though the blog is 8 years old today, the roots of DIY Bride were planted a few years earlier when Jason proposed to me in 1998. In those days there were virtually no DIY resources for couples like us (smart, fun, on a budget, and not interested in tulle-wrapped bubbles) outside of Martha Stewart Weddings which was a pretty new publication then. (A huge thanks goes to MSW for helping foster the DIY community and for being among the first to treat DIYers as legitimate and worthy!) Around mid-1999 I began sharing my own templates, creations, and resources with other brides in online forums and newsgroups. A Yahoo! group was formed to house all of the templates and downloads. We outgrew that and, in August of 2003, DIYBride.com was born as a standalone entity.
3 books, 2 special edition bookazines, a digital magazine, millions of visits, the birth of a son, my upcoming 11th wedding anniversary and countless friendships later I sit here quite amazed – and tremendously proud – about what I’ve accomplished through and because of this site. I am humbled – truly, sincerely humbled – to be a part of your life as a publisher, a business partner, a colleague, a source of inspiration and information, a friend. Not many people get to do what they love for a living. Fewer still get to share that with other people. I get to do both on a daily basis. Thank you for helping make that happen.
Here’s to the next 8 years!
