Now when people oooo and awwww over all my stuff I have to say, "Ya it was really hard to... umm.... Paypal that." I really want to make my own stuff so I can be proud to show it all off.
My biggest DIY dilemma is making my own bouquets! I got silk flowers from afloral.com (gerbera daisies). I have NO background in this at all and have a hard time making my ivy greenery work with the bouquet. I also need some wire cutters! The first bouquet I tried looked great, until I realized that when all the flowers were together, they looked yellow instead of white (I ordered cream by mistake). Then I tried some with red gerberas and and green ivy and the ivy looks like it threw up all through my bouquet. I got one made that doesn't look too bad that I might use for my matron of honor, however I stabbed myself about 6 times trying to insert the pins. Oh my-- what fun! Hopefully when I get the RIGHT color of flowers in, I can try out some more...until then, I'll be trying to avoid cuts from the pearlized pins of death and try to not go all Edward Scissors Hands and clip off all the stuff that doesn't look right. :)

My biggest dilemma is creating diy elements that do not look cheap or cheesy. I'm a bride on a small budget and have a creative side that just needs to come out.

I'm planning on designing all of the stationary, the paper flowers bouquet (origami or punched?), the centerpieces, and creating my own cake. Am I nuts? Yes, probably. But I really could use some ideas to stem off from. I was browsing through your books the other day wishing I could afford to pick them up and then I come here and here's this contest! The idea on the diy photobooth is fabulous! I've wanted one so bad but no way could I justify the 800 dollars for it.

i am a big diy-er! da biggest dilemma for me is the battle of time vs money. is all my effort worth saving x-amount of dollars? how much money am i really saving versus over-spending for all these beautiful but pricey artsy materials? but i am still a big believer in putting my personal touch on everything.
