My fiance proposed by taking my favorite jewelry commercial and infusing it with pictures of us and his proposal and put the ring on a necklace around my neck, just like the commercial. Then we did a DVD invite showing a slideshow of us and information about the wedding and wedding party.

We had online RSVP through the mywedding.com website. We also plan on having a DIY photobooth using backgrounds of scenery around the country (we are having a travel theme) using FI's Mac software.

And finally, we will be having a photo downloading station for people to download their pics onto our computer BEFORE they leave so there's no forgetting. We got a photo card/ISB reader that works on just about every photo card. Whew! I think that is all. :)

Anyone else interested in a DIY photobooth? I think it would be fun to see the silly poses, etc. guests would take of themselves! I found some software out there for it, but so far have only tried the free Canon software which I couldn't really get to work with my SLR...

To Megan, I highly recommend animoto.com! They just added a High resolution DVD option which I haven't tried yet, but the site is so awesome and addicting! We plan to turn our photos into videos - we have mini videos so far of invitation making, centerpiece making, engagement photos, and will eventually put them all together. Sooo cool & excellent prices. (Also you can save $5 off a yearly pass with referrer code "dqvewmyb", which also gives me a couple months more onto my pass.)

While an ipod wedding sounds like a great way to save money and have total control, I have to urge you to reconsider! I recently went to a wedding where they did this and it was a disaster. You don't realize how much a DJ or a Band takes control of the room and holds the party together. The whole night seemed disorganized and scattered.

I would like to do a PowerPoint presentation type thing with pictures of both of us from birth to present along with our favorite music and play it after the ceremony. Any suggestions for that? I thought we might then use that as a favor, but I'm not sure yet.

Hi

We are going to be doing a DVD invitation - maybe you could give us some ideas, hints or tips on how to go about doing it.

Hey- One i'd be curious about (ok, ok, it's because we need to do it!) is broadcasting the ceremony over the web. We have a few people unable to come (some from overseas, some in the us) for various reasons, but we really want to be able to view the ceremony while its happening (as opposed to a dvd sent in the mail months later) Suggestions??? :) Thanks!

Hi,

I was wondering if you know of any cheap(ish) way to project a lighting pattern (like iTunes visualizer or a portrait) onto a dance floor or a wall? What would one need? Can you rent it from an audio video rental place? Is there a way to do it outside? I see lighting companies with their custom gobos and pricey lighting equipment and geez. it just seems like a little technical know-how here would yield a better, cheaper way. Any ideas?

Thanks! =)

I'm curious what people's experiences have been with the iPod wedding. We really want to do it, control freaks that we are, but our parents are very anti, and we are a bit concerned about the DJ factor. We don't want to require anyone in the bridal party (or on the guest list, really) to spend all night in front of the 'Pod, but we also don't want to be responsible for it ourselves. Does anyone have any great MC or iPod DJ ideas? I'd love to hear them! (We have some time, wedding is next July, but still, it may take that long to convince the parents!).
