Khris' Question: Paper Storage
I have a storage problem and I’m calling on you, my clever readers, for ideas.
I have about 2 dozen rolls of paper (wrapping paper, handmade papers, large sheets of paper) that I can’t figure out how to store. They were standing upright in a large vase in a corner of my last apartment. That’s just not going to work in the new space.
The underbed storage boxes aren’t going to work for me. Wall-mounting might work but I can’t visualize doing that for 24+ rolls. Any other suggestions that’ll protect the papers and keep them accessible to me for crafting projects?

I have a bag that I bought at the Container Store to store my wrapping paper in. I think I have 4 rolls in there. You might want to check the Container store for other options.
What about those wrapping paper containers that stores always sell around the holidays? It looks like Container Store has some good options:

I have a couple of dedicated craft shelves in one of my home closets. (We are lucky and have lots of closet space!) I keep the papers next to the picture frames so they can stay flat. (The paper-rolls I keep at the bottom of the closet.)
I keep poster boards either behind bookshelves or the couch.
Thinking about this- one place in a closet that we never think about comes to mind. Don’t most closets have a shelf just above the clothes-hanger rack? Could you put some hooks there to hang them? Or perhaps add some clothes-hanger-like hooks (probably bigger) at the bottom of another shelf somewhere in your place (or at the ceiling in the top of your closet). Just a thought. Maybe it will spur another idea.
If my description doesn’t help, let me know and I will see if I can make a quick picture of my thoughts.

The holiday wrapping paper containers have already been suggested, but I thought about that as well as paper plastic storage bins, like they sell at craft stores. Hold 12×12 sized paper!

I’ve already been converted, and it works like a dream.
How about putting it in a closet for storage? What you can do is if you have a closet that is higher and has some storage space above it, you can take some picture frame wire (2 strips long enough to reach from the front to the back) and mark off four spots to put nails or hooks in. You should measure about three to four inches SHORT of each end of the gift wrap. Place the nails or hooks in those locations and string the picture frame wire to/through the anchors. Then you can just load the rolls of gift wrap up top!
That Ohdeedoh idea is GENIUS!! I want to go buy wrapping paper just to store it like that.
A inexpensive solution is to use old panty hose and hang it on a hanger.
What if you use the pants hangers that hold multiple pairs of pants?
I had a similar problem with storing rolls of bookcloth. I use a wire roll storgae file made by Safco – it’s great because you can wheel it out when you want to access something from the back.
