This is great timing for me! I have been looking at cakes figuring out what I like, how much work it will be, etc. (I’m wondering if I should make my own or not…)
Thanks!

I really want to DIY my own (cup)cakes but people keep discouraging me from doing it, saying it will be too much work too close to the wedding. Perfect timing for me to convince the naysayers it’s feasible!

Since my 2006 wedding I have made two wedding cakes for others, and now wished I had done my own. In retrospect, our baker was 1/2-as_ed and I didn’t get what I wanted. But I would have had to plan VERY carefully to allow the time to make it possible. That’s a lot harder than making a wedding cake or making cupcakes, IMHO.
