Win a Copy of the DIY Bride Book!
Is your wedding looming and you’ve got that “not so crafty” feeling? Maybe you’re all thumbs when it comes to diy projects or perhaps you’ve just lost your wedding craft mojo. Chin up, my friend! The DIY Bride: 40 Fun Projects for Your One-of-a-Kind Wedding is the cure for what ails you. And I’m giving it away for free. That’s right. I’m giving one fabulous DIY Bride reader a copy of the book.
“Is there a catch?” I hear you say. Heck yeah, there’s a catch!
Because I want to get this book into the hands of the craft-phobic and the decidedly uncrafty, I’m giving away this copy to the person who submits the best “worst crafting experience” story. So, tell me all about your crafting mishaps or nightmares and why you need help. Since the purpose of the book is to show you how easy it really is to create wedding awesomeness, the person who has the story that appeals to me most will be among the first get her/his hands on the book.

It was Christmastime. I was living in an apartment with my college roommate. I wanted a wreath for my beat-up old van to get into the spirit. Not being able to afford one, I bent a coat hanger into the approximate shape and went out just past our carport where there were some pine trees. Half an hour later and covered with sap, I attached the boughs to the coat hanger with some lovely green twist ties and proclaimed myself done. My roommate took one look at it and said, “You’re the ghetto Martha Stewart.”
Also, I need the help because we are on a very tight budget and I need to do all I can by myself!

I usually am a so so crefty person. I have some of my mother’s genes, and she is a really crefty person. So I have looked around for some inexpensive ring bear pillows, since I am having 4 Ring Bears. I decided since I could not find ring bear pillows that 1 I liked and 2 all custom made ones are out of my price range, that I was going to make 4 Ring bear pillows. I have a sewing machine so how hard could this be? Well I made a pattern of 12 inch square out of posterboard and then began cutting out my squares. My squres did not totally come out prefectly, oh well I was sewing them right, so I could just even them out with the inseam. So I sewed them that I did a good job. I then began to stuff all 4 of the pillows. They were looking good then I got done, and they looked Horrible! They were lopsided and not perfectly squared! I was mortified! I had put in a lot of work on these darn pillows and all my Fi could do is laugh at them! I could not beleive they turned out so wrong! So those our my ring bear pillows for not atleast. I am going to try and talk my Mom in to making them. Since I do not have the money to order them customized to our colors!

I was painting wooden santa ornaments and gooped up my brush too much so the eyes were huge… I ended up having to cover them up with painted on “sunglasses.”
