I love your advice about planning more for the marriage rather than the wedding. Its so true. Im so glad the my fiance brought me back to the reality that we arent just planning for one day, we are planning for the rest of our lives. Ah I cant wait. Thanks for all the encouragement and advice!!!

No way! My parents were married / held their reception in the Brazillian room in the Berkeley gardens!!! Their wedding was 22 years ago.

Thanks for the advice. Luckily my fianc√© started to take part in the wedding preps so we modified our theme so it would reflect both of our personalities.

I like your thing about the budget… I am having a hard time deciding on the menu… and I want so many things, but I dont want to be in debt. I know I will have to make sacrafices, but coming from an italian family, it is hard because I will be frowned upon.

I am working hard to save money… we will see.

We didn’t register for china either. It’s only been one month and it’s the one thing I’m uncertain I’ll regret or not. But, I’m glad to see you aren’t regretting it! Give me hope.

You went to work the Monday after?? Wow. You are a brave, brave woman. At least you went on the honeymoon shortly thereafter… We almost just took that Monday off instead of going away, but we ended up taking a week and looking back, it was one of the best decisions we made! We did not, however, go to Bora Bora & French Polynesia. I am terribly jealous.

Wonderful advice!! I just had to comment, since I thought it was neat that I’ll be photographing a wedding today in the Brazilian Room, and the bride is quite a wonderful DIYer. She’s mad her own wedding gown, table cloths, silk screened her own invitations. I’m so excited to see all the personal touches she’s put into the event. Keep encouraging your readers to be personal and choose projects to be their own! It adds so much to the story of the day, and photographers (at least those like me) love that.
