Check out Royal Restrooms. Their location in WA quoted me $700 for a two stall "luxury restroom" complete with lighting, flushable toilets, etc.

Can any one offer suggestions about the toliet situation. I know that if we were to hold a wedding reception (for about 130 people) at my house we would need to rent portable toliets. But so far the quotes I have gotten are seemingly high- around $1,500 a day. That was for the nicer toliets, not the regular town fair blue porto-potties, but sinks, stalls, etc inside a trailor type thing. I am in the CT area if anyone knows of a good rental place and could offer suggestions. Thanks so much!

We are in the middle of planning our at home wedding. It will be held at my Grandfather's estate where I grew up. We're having the ceremony in front of the barn where our guests will be seated on straw bales. We rented the tents and tables for the reception. It's really not that difficult to do if you get a jump on the planning. I recommend having it catered, unless you have family willing to prepare the food. We just purchased table covers, favor boxes, and 30 LED flickering votive candles - all for $50! Keep an eye on what your nearest dollar store has in stock. we plan on having about 100 guests. By the way we are well under our budget of 3,000 dollars so far. I'm having a blast with the decorating ideas. Having an at- home wedding can give you a lot more creative freedom. Have fun with it! Best Wishes!

I just hosted a total DIY wedding reception at my parents home. I have had many guests come up to me and tell me it was the best wedding they have ever been to and many also tell me I should go into wedding planning or catering (not bragging-just letting you know that it can be done and be wonderful). We had about 80 guests and spent less than $2,000 dollars and I planned it all in only 3 months. The actual ceremony was held at a local church, so really it was only the reception held at home.
We rented a large frame tent with sides with cathedral windows and round tables and chairs. I outlined the tent with christmas lights. From the ceiling, I hung silk pomander balls I had made myself, along with potpurri balls. They were gorgeous. My centerpieces were a single Gerbera daisy in a vase with candles. I had huge flower centerpieces everywhere. All the flowers were from Giant Supermarket and a neighbors garden. 100 Luminaries surrounded the yard, pond and tent. As it was a fall wedding, I had gourds and pumpkins sitting on hay stacks all over the place. We have a small pond in which I floated candles and flowers. THe food was all prepared by my mother and MIL. We had pulled bork, mac and cheese, and a whole Kenyan meal made by my MIL. For appetizers, we went to Sams' club and got bacon wrapped steak and chicken bites, franks in a blanket, mini quiches, fruit salad, vegetable tray, cheese and olive tray, meatballs etc.
We had no DJ, just an ipod hooked up to speakers. We hired a photographer student from school to take our pictures. And took many of our own pics. There is a lot of other stuff. IF you have questions, please e-mail me at bmorediamond@yahoo.com
